The answer here is no! Believe me, I've done it before. If you put Brussels sprouts in the microwave for about a minute they will start to explode! When I found this out I thought the noise was just the plate hitting off the door but it stopped. I opened the door, and one of the Brussels sprouts had exploded all over my microwave.
